Regular Meeting
Mayer Schwarzbach called the meeting to order. The Pledge was recited.
Council members present: Krystyl Kulbeck, Blaine Ophus, Jon Sheehy, Rich Jespersen
Staff present: Wendy Kleinsasser and Tim LaBuda
Public: None
Approval of Meeting Minutes: Rich Jespersen moved to approve the minutes from the May meeting. Blaine Ophus s seconded; motion passed.
Sheriff’s Report None
Public Comment: None
Pivot: The alfalfa crop is looking good and could possibly go four tons. The Town will have to purchase more seed.
New Pool report: No updates.
KLJ: The SCADA grant was completed The Town is waiting for the Engineers to certify completion.
Bear Paw Development: Nothing new.
New Business:
Montana League of Cities and Towns contract – Krystyl Kulbeck moved to approve signing the contract which would allow the League to provide accounting support should it be necessary. Jon Sheehy seconded; motion passed.
Old Business:
Community Decay: Nothing new.
Cell Tower: They Town is moving forward with plans for the other site. Vertical Bridge is in the permitting process. Rich Jespersen moved to approve the new location, Blaine Ophus seconded and the motion passed.
Committee Reports:
Mayor: None
Public Works: None.
Clerk: The shut off was sent out electronically. Interviews of the two applicants for the position of Deputy Clerk were scheduled for August 20th with one at 4:00 and one at 4:30. The Clerk will contact the applicants.
The correspondence was distributed.
Claims: Blaine Ophus to accept the claims; Rich Jespersen seconded. Motion passed.
General Journal Voucher: Rich Jespersen moved to accept JV 2027-01. Blaine Ophus seconded; motion passed.
The next meeting will be Thursday, August 13th.
Anything to be brought before the Council. Rich Jespersen advised the Council that at some point the Library Board will begin work on the sidewalk in front of and along side the building to improve drainage.
Blaine Ophus moved the meeting adjourn; Jon Sheehy seconded; seconded; motion passed.
