REGULAR MEETING
Mayor Steve Stiles called the meeting to order.
Council members present were Colby Baumgarn, Shaud Schwarzbach, and Fred Watstein.

Approval of Meeting Minutes: Colby Baumgarn moved to approve the minutes from the February meeting. Shaud Schwarzbach seconded, motion passed.

Sheriff Report: Deputy Hale reported that there was a skunk problem at a residence and attempts to trap the animals were underway.
New Water Project: There have been no updates from Rural Development. The Section 106 issue is still not resolved and is held up in Washington while the US Government tries to verify the terms of the agreement with the Blackfeet Tribal government. Rural Development funding is in jeopardy due to the new administration.
New Pool: Work will continue on the interlocal agreement between the school and the town. The issue goes to a public vote in June. It has been suggested that another joint board member be brought on, someone to represent the public.
Bear Paw Development/Brownfield Project: No action
New Business
Amendment to the MDT Rest Area MOU: Colby Baumgarn moved to approve that Mayor Stiles sign the amendment. Fred Watstein seconded; motion passed.
Fourth of July Town Celebration: Colby Baumgarn will put together a group to organize it; possibly with some corporate sponsorship.
Old Business
Charge for Inactive/Vacant properties connected to water and sewer system: Discussion, no action
Ditch and road plans: No action
Source Water report: See above
Committee Reports: Colby Baumgarn reported that the sign for the dump is here. He also reported on the annual meeting with Bear Paw Development.
Shaud Schwarzbach reported on the latest NCRWA meeting. Construction of the treatment plant should begin within the year.
Mayor Report: Mayor Stiles reported on his conversation with Anna Miller at SRF regarding financing for the new meters we have had to replace. It was suggested by SRF that the town seek funding from the Coal Trust.
There was discussion on whether writing to our senators regarding the holdup with RD funding for the water project would get some results. The Council stated that it couldn’t hurt, and may help. Mayor Stiles will compose a letter for council approval at the next meeting.
Public Works:. Ditches need to be cleaned out by Public Works. Also, the Bobcat is houred out. PWD Tim LaBuda plans to go to Stanford and learn of a method to work on the streets.
Clerk Reports:
* The shut off list was distributed
* The correspondence was distributed.
Claims: Shaud Schwarzbach moved to approve the claims; Colby Baumgarn seconded; motion passed.
General Journal Voucher. Colby Baumgarn moved to approve JV 2017-08. Shaud Schwarzbach seconded, motion passed.
Any Business to be brought before the Council: Councilman Fred Watstein informed the council that he will be resigning at the next meeting. There will be a search for his replacement.
The regular council meetings will be returned to the first Thursday of the month beginning in April.
Fred Watstein moved to adjourn, Colby Baumgarn seconded; motion passed.
