Regular Meeting
This meeting of the Town of Big Sandy Council is subject to the open meeting laws and is being recorded in accordance with Sections 2-2-301, 2-3-302, 2-3-203, and 2-3-214 MCA. All Council members, staff and public are advised that the public portions of the meeting will be recorded in both an audio and video format. Cameras and recording devices are placed in the meeting room to complete these recordings. Everyone in attendance is reminded to honor basic rules of decorum during the meeting. By remaining in the meeting, those present consent to being recorded and displayed in the footage that will be places on the Town of Big Sandy website.
Beginning October 1, 2025, the State of Montana requires all Town Council meetings be audio recorded. The Council recognizes the value of public comment and the constitutional rights of the public to participate in governmental operations. To allow for fair and orderly expression of public comments, the Council will permit public participation through oral or written comments during the “public comment” section. Individuals wishing to be heard by the Board shall first be recognized by the Mayor. Individuals will proceed to make comments within a reasonable time period. Citizens may comment on items within the jurisdiction of the Town of Big Sandy Council that are not on this meeting’s agenda. Citizens may comment on agenda items when that item is discussed. Citizens may not comment on matters related to staff privacy or contested adjudicative matters. The Mayor may control the comment period to ensure an orderly progression of the meeting.
