Regular Meeting
Council President Jon Sheehy called the meeting to order and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Council members present: Krystyl Kulbeck, Rich Jespersen, Danielle Weaver
Staff present: Wendy Kleinsasser and Tim Labuda
Public: Bob and Diane Scalese
Approval of Meeting Minutes: Rich Jespersen moved to approve both sets of the February meeting minutes. Danielle Weaver seconded and the motion passed.
Sheriff’s Report: None
Public Comment: Diane Scalese reported that a neighbor had a fire burning in his back yard and she called 911 to report it. She wanted to know what the rules were for open burning in town. The council will look into it and get some clarification.
Pivot: Nothing new
New Pool report: There will be a meeting of the pool committee next week. The grant application has been sent on to the Federal agency and we should hear something in about three weeks.
KLJ: Mayor Schwarzbach and President Sheehy had a conference call with Luke LaLiberty with KLJ. Jon Sheehy reported the results of that meeting to the rest of the council.
Bear Paw Development: Nothing new.
New Business
Resolution 2024-17: Local Government Review – Krystyl Kulbeck moved to pass the resolution, Rich Jespersen seconded and the motion passed unanimously on a roll call vote. The clerk will get information on actual cost to the tax payer and submit an article to the Mountaineer to inform the public prior to the primary election.
Resolution 2024-18: Budget Amendment – Krystyl Kulbeck moved to pass the resolution, Rich Jespersen seconded and the motion passed unanimously on a roll call vote
Resolution 2024-19: Renewal of appointment of Robert Nelson to the Big Sandy Soil Conservation District – Rich Jespersen moved to pass the resolution, Danielle Weaver seconded and the motion passed unanimously on a roll call vote.
Surplus Purchase signers: The council members and the Public Works director signed the form and the clerk will mail it to the state.
Bids: There were two bids for the salvaged tin from city hall and the bid was awarded to the high bidder,
Railroad Crossings: The clerk had sent out the correspondence between the Mayor and BNSF for the council to read. No action taken,
UM Cyber Security Training: The clerk will get more information on this.
Fuel tax map: Rich Jespersen moved that the Council President sign the map and Krystyl Kulbeck seconded. Motion passed and the clerk will mail it to MDT.
Old Business
Firemen’s Interlocal: The agreement has been signed.
Community Decay: There is a hearing scheduled for March 20 at 2:00 p.m.
Committee Reports: None
Mayor: None.
Public Works: None
Clerk: The shut off list was distributed electronically.
The correspondence was distributed.
Claims: Rich Jespersen moved to accept the claims; Krystyl Kulbeck seconded; motion passed.
General Journal Voucher: Rich Jespersen moved to accept JV 2024-07. Danielle Weaver seconded; motion passed.
The next meeting will be April 11.
Rich Jespersen moved to adjourn. Danielle Weaver seconded and the motion passed.
